Undergraduate B-School Brandies, Texas, Wisconsin, Illinois, Miami, Forham best?
So I am a high school senior and right i am about to chose the school i want to attend. I was hoping you guys can give me some advice on which school they think is the best. I am hoping some day maybe to get into finance potently work on Wall Street, but I am not set on that since I am hoping to double major in Computer Science. The schools I am considering are:
Brandies University
University of Texas
University of Wisconsin
University of Miami
University of Illinois
Fordham University
Please tell me what you guys think, Thanks in advance.
UIUC is awesome with comp sci, that's about all I know. If I had to pick one of them, the schools that would make it a tough decision for me would be UTexas or UIUC, with UIUC being the one I choose due to location (Chicago) and, like I said, their comp sci(or any engineering in general) department. I don't know how UTexas does in comp sci though.
Actually, just looked up USNWR (take it for what it's worth), and UT isn't far behind UIUC at all when it comes to comp sci... tougher decision.
UT = UIUC > UW > Brandeis > Fordham (for location) > UMiami
UT or UIUC
I think the answer also depends on where you'd like to live after graduation, as all of this schools are regional. Brandies, for example, has good reputation and network in Boston, so if you are interested in that region it may be an option.
I would say UT is the best As far as I know UT always has at least a few of the BB's and elite boutiques from New York and all of the Houston offices doing on-campus recruiting.
UT has the best business program of all of those and a pretty good Comp Sci program, also it is Austin, which is a hotbed of technology (both established and start-ups). It also has the best weather and location of all of those (except maybe Miami).
thank you everybody! I was leaning towards ut also. And it was u of I champagne btw. Also would u still say ut is better than wake forrest and villanova?
Wake/VIllanova U-Grad biz schools (and grad for that matter) aren't in the same class as McCombs.
UT, especially if you can get into their honors programs for either of the two (Business or Turing Scholars). They also give some pretty good scholarships for honors program participants.
Go to UT. They have very good On-Campus Recruiting for all-types of jobs, both NYC and it absolutely dominates Houston energy IB, S&T, ER, and MBB jobs. Plus its Austin, Texas, which is enough right there. Stellar sports programs, great academic programs, 6th street for nightlife, and the women are definitely among the best in the country.
UIUC or UT.
dont know anything about CS but if you're interested in banking go to UT, they get very good recruitment for top banking and consulting esp given that it's not like an ivy league. plus youll have a great time there
Wisconsin gets decent OCR recruiting and has a lot of alumni on the street, I know for a fact that they are a target for GS, DB, BMO, HLHZ, Robert Baird, and I'm sure a few others. Definitely also place well into Chicago and Minneapolis firms like William Blair and Piper Jaffray. I also know a few people from there at CS, UBS, and Citi.
I would say UT > UW > UIUC > the rest. The real choice is if you see yourself more in Houston or Chicago because a lot of the recruiting will be for those cities.
What if i threw U Michigan into the pot? Would your opinions change?
Michigan is better than all.
