Value of Part-Time MBA
A VP at the firm I worked for this summer was getting his part-time MBA from a great school like Booth, Kellogg, Haas. I was curious how part-time MBA graduates are viewed relative to people who completed an MBA FT. Does getting a part-time MBA hold the same weight as a FT MBA as you progress in your career? On your resume, do you have to note it as part time?
matty_ice_2, bummer your thread hasn't had a response yet. Maybe one of these threads could point you in the right direction:
Hope that helps.
You don’t need to mention it as a part time program, but it’s fairly obvious on your CV that you worked full time / did a PT MBA.
The PT program is viewed as MBA light, but a few years out no one will care. The biggest difference is during the program and immediately out of it.
Doing research on this topic as I'm considering a PT MBA. Can you elaborate on " biggest difference is during the program and immediately out of it."?
Several years after the PT/EMBA program, the degree is mostly seen as an 'MBA' and nothing else. Ppl tend to glance over the E or PT part of the degree, as that doesn't really matter as much at that point.
The biggest difference is during the program, as in less OCR, less career switching potential, diff classmate network, etc..etc...
