Very Important Covid Rules

Don't say Chinese virus because it's offensive and racist, but we should all be worried about the British and Brazilian variants.

Wear a mask even if you are vaccinated, it distinguishes you from troglodytes.

We need covid passports to let you move in your country and to vote. Please do not counfound these with racist voter IDs.

Neandertals report zero cases after reopening their economy, but remember to trust THE science.

Don’t EVER question the experts otherwise you are anti-science (a field which constantly asks questions and looks to improve).

Public schools are too dangerous and should be shut down with mediocre online training as replacement  whilst we send our kids in-person to elite private schools.

This is disingenuous.  Scientists should be constantly questioning each other within their field of expertise.  Spending 20 minutes scrolling through Aunt Becky's Facebook page does not qualify you to contradict an established scientific consensus.

And no, the one non-peer reviewed "study" you (generically) found online doesn't really qualify either, especially for the types of people on this board who like to post the ones with clickbait-y titles and not actually read the damn thing, or even the summary.

Public schools don't have the budget to deal with sanitation and social distancing issues the way private schools do.  Public schools have unions which demand that their members not be exposed to a bunch of kids who pretty self-evidently won't be capable of following basic COVID protocols.  Public schools have to bow to pressure from electeds whereas private schools are insulated from that.  What is so confusing here?  Is it lamentable that money can buy you a superior educational system?  I guess it depends on who you ask.  Once you acknowledge that basic fact, it's hard to see what your complaint is.

You're a fucking idiot.

So, you're saying that regular people aren't allowed to ask any questions when their livelihood is turned upside down by these policies?

Spending 20 minutes scrolling through Aunt Becky's Facebook page does not qualify you to contradict an established scientific consensus.

You're playing semantics here. Asking questions isn't the same as contradicting science. FWIW lockdowns were not an established scientific consensus. We had countries in Asia that had mask mandates but NEVER locked down and are doing fine. Even in the US there still is not convincing evidence that Florida did significantly worse despite not having a lockdown for a long time.

Is it wrong to look at studies that don't fit the narrative? If they aren't peer reviewed, what's wrong for pushing for a peer review?

Public schools don't have the budget to deal with sanitation and social distancing issues the way private schools do.

This sounds like a defeatist mentality right from the start. Given that education is the most important avenue to lift people out of poverty, shouldn't you an advocate of equality be at least asking for some sort of budget to be drafted? Or if not 100% capacity at least at much as possible?

Public schools have unions which demand that their members

Oh so now you agree that the CDC and other scientific policies have been influenced by politics and unions. I guess those scientific organizations are no longer independent scientific organizations are they?

not be exposed to a bunch of kids who pretty self-evidently won't be capable of following basic COVID protocols

Beyond kindergarden/1st grade your comment is absurd. I'm sure that kids who can put their clothes on should have no difficulty figuring out how to wear a mask and wash hands.

Public schools have to bow to pressure from electeds whereas private schools are insulated from that

You admitted earlier it was the teacher unions at fault.

Is it lamentable that money can buy you a superior educational system?

Nobody is arguing that private school education isn't inherently better than public school. But in an absolute sense if inner city kids are unable to read and unable to get live instruction and tutoring help from teachers, than that is a complete failure of the public school system. At that rate we should just privatize education entirely and offer low income families vouchers instead.

Does no one understand that science is an iterative process?

What is known today differs from what was known yesterday. The trend of retarded obese illiterates thinking they are more knowledgeable than people who have been living and breathing the hard sciences for decades is beyond me.

What iterations of science happened to cause the about face regarding vaccinated people needing masks? I agree that science is an iterative process, I think we all can. Unfortunately, over the past year we have seen so much political theatre regarding "science" that it makes it tough to differentiate between the two. Look at all the celebs / blue check marks tweeting that they will continue to wear masks so that people don't assume them to be conservative.... that is about as anti science as you can get.

I appreciate what you're saying, but take a step back and look at what got us to this point. Besides, constantly parroting "trust the science" is an argument of authority which is worthless to me if the argument is not backed by data that supports the claim.

Going outside in a group is very dangerous, unless you're burning cars and looting stores.

How could I forget about that...

That's fine. Every time I get one I picture the NPC getting upset and laugh at it.

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at
