Wall Street Oasis? More like Wall Street Mirage.

First of all WSO boom roasted.

From far away, this website looks like a great resource but the closer you get, the more you realize how useless 95% of the content is. Recruiting threads are filled with misinformation that is verifiably incorrect if you are actually networking or actually attending a school with OCR. Prestige/arbitrary ranking threads are filled with LARPing wannabes, high school kids, and other idiots who have no idea what they are talking about. Anything other than TMT M&A is career suicide that will pigeonhole you into being a cuck for the rest of eternity.

I am all for anonymous posting, but we need more verification badges to identify which posters can be trusted. I propose badges for:

School: Doesn't have to be displayed, but verify tier as determined by WSO recruiting data.

Verified title

Years on WSO: I have been lurking for years, but don't have that many bananas because I don't post all the time

We need to clean this place up. There is good information buried in here, but I believe the explosion of salaries, expanded hiring, and increased profile of IB due to the torrid pace of M&A has attracted a lot of newcomers who are diluting the quality of this site.

Can confirm anything other than TMT M&A is career suicide that will pigeonhole you into being a cuck for the rest of eternity.

Knew several less prestigious classmates from Harvard (#1 on US News Undergrad Rankings) who did not go TMT M&A who are now pigeonholed into being cucks for the rest of eternity.
