WashU or CMU for IB and Quant career

Hey all, I was recently admitted to both washington university in st louis and carnegie mellon for my undergrad and now I am faced with the dilemma of choosing where to go. For cmu, I would be in the school of humanities and social sciences doing a statistics and machine learning major with a double major in computer science(hopefully). For washU, I was admitted to the college of arts and sciences so I can pick whatever major but I will probably do applied math. Which one of these schools would be better to start a career in IB or quant work?

If you have any interest in computer science whatsoever, CMU hands down. IB would be a networking grind at either school but your options with a CS background are close to unlimited coming from CMU, not to mention it will likely be more academically enriching. School is not all about fast tracking you to a specific career, keep the optionality.

I would instantly go to CMU if I was in the school of computer science but the problem is I was only admitted to the school of humanities for the statistics and machine learning major. I am able to do a double major in cs but I've heard from current students that it's incredibly difficult and my gpa would probably suffer.

If you really want to pursue quant (since IB is rather unlikely from those two schools) you might want to consider going the PhD route. I'm unfamiliar with how difficult the grading is at WashU, but see how well they place into elite statistics/CS PhD programs. Regardless, Quant and IB are very very different jobs.
