What are the different Latin American Coverage Groups structured like?

I was under the impression most banks, specially BBs, just had general Latin American coverage groups, treating Latam like any other industry vertical. Lately Ive see Linkedin profiles that make allusion to more specific groups i.e. Latin American Financing (GS), or ECM Latam (BofA). Basically, Im interested in learning about the diferent opportunities an Analyst/Asso would have if they specifically wanted to cover Latam from NY.

You mean NY based groups are a shitshow? Or Latam based investment banking is a shitshow?
