What department is suitable for a mathematician?

Hi!

I am a Math student who is willing to pursue a career on a investment and bank-related area.

However, I don't really know what department could suit me. Is Equity Research appropiate for some of my profile? Or may be Investment Banking?

I'm interested in a department where I can use my math skills. I'm attracted by the idea of creating complex financial models, analyzing stocks using mathematics, etc.

I'm new in this world, so I'm a bit lost.
