What did you learn from the junior bankers working under you?
Monkeys, there is a lot of content out there that gives the do's and don'ts to analysts and interns. I was just wondering if you had the opportunity to learn something from the junior folks on your team. It might be a MD-VP, VP-Associate, Associate- Analyst thing but did you ever come off richer (value wise) having interacted with them or did any of their work habits have a positive impact on you?
Juniors are almost enthusiastic and vibrant. They are always willing to learn new things and they keep their minds fresh for learning.
Our first years would rotate through teams, so we'd pump them for intel on other teams. Occasionally they'll have a more efficient way of doing something they picked up from another team, which we promptly steal and make our own.
DO offer sexual favors and/or illicit narcotics in exchange for better work assignments (and if you're good at it, promotions) DON'T hesitate at the opportunity to blackmail your competition
