What do you do when you can’t keep yourself motivated?

I’m taking level 2 of the CFA in June and I just can’t keep myself motivated and be consistent in my studies. My goals and study plan are all very realistic so there’s nothing wrong there. It’s just that I can’t keep myself motivated. I think of the rewards after passing this level for motivation purposes but that wears off quickly and I become inconsistent in my studies. My goal is to study 2-3 hours after work and gym and a power nap but I keep procrastinating. I don’t know what to do!!

I often have the same issue when working towards a larger goal. I'm currently studying for the GMAT to go to a nice business school. That in itself didn't motivate me for long. So I use the following mind trick:

I imagine the alternative to not acing the GMAT is living under a bridge because I can't get a job.

This makes me extremely determined to work hard. But I don't mention it to friends, they might think I'm irrational.
