Some of the tech focused boutiques have been paying above street for the past couple of years. I don't know Qatalyst's comp, but if you look at their revenue/person, they have to be well above street.

Isn't the general rule of thumb you can afford a mortgage value of 3-5x annual salary? How is he making ~$1mm as a first year associate (or does he have supplemental income)?
