What makes Ivey HBA better than other undergraduate commerce schools in Canada?

If you are an Ivey HBA alumnus, it would be great if I could shoot you some short PMs.

Anyways, I was wondering why Ivey's HBA is considered the best for finance. It's sort of like the "wharton" of Canada. Ivey undergrads seem to get a lot of good placements into IB and PE positions but WHY? Is it because of "namesake"? Is there better OCR at Ivey? Is there something special about the curriculum at Ivey that employer's value? Or is it just a correlation (not causation) that students do well in finance at Ivey?

I'm looking to apply to these schools as a Canadian high school senior. Thanks!

Firms recruit there. It's a virtuous cycle - smart kids go there, so firms recruit there, so more smart kids go there. As far as business schools go there's a higher concentration of smarter kids at Ivey. Ivey curriculum uses case method, but from the kids I know from Ivey they weren't any smarter/more prepared than other schools. Didn't go to Ivey, so can't help you more in that regard.
