What should I choose between an internship at pretigious local PE fund and a junior analyst job at a losing international hedge fund?

Hi,

I am a fresh graduate from a highly-ranked university in Europe. Recently, I came back to my home country in ASEAN and searched for jobs. I got two offers. One offer is as an intern at a local top-tier PE&VC fund. That fund is a family office (<5 years old), but that family is well-off, crazily rich, politically powerful, and famous in the investment industry. The PE fund members also have awesome professional experience background. The associate at that fund promised me a full-time offer as junior analyst after the internship ONLY IF I met his competency requirements. If I do the internship, I would mainly assist him. The focus of that fund is on fintech industry, but it also takes interest in financial services, sports and F&B. As a majority effort is on fintech, which is still in the incubation phase (at least in my home country), I guess the fund has not made profit till now.

Another offer is from a NY-based hedge fund. The investment strategy is on emerging market like ASEAN or South America. The fund is around 10 years old, but it has incurred loss for 4 years straight. The fund is small as well. The capital is around USD 90mn, but the AUM is only around USD 70mn now.

Which one should I choose? I prefer the PE fund, but Is sacrificing a full-time hedge fund position for the internship at PE worth it?

Thanks in advance for your advice.
