What to do & see in Shanghai and Beijing?

Hey monkeys,

I will be visiting the land of the red dragon and looking for some interesting ideas of what to do and see. Will be spending a few days in each city.

I don't really know where to begin in Shanghai, but for Beijing I plan to visit Tiananmen square, the Forbidden city, the Great wall...

Very interested in history, but also good food and drinking establishments.

I used to hit up the clubs a lot at Gong Ti in Beijing. You can just tell the cab driver 'Gong Ti'. I used to go to VICS and MIX. Bar Blu is cool too in Sanlitun. Banana is popping sometimes as well. I saw Paul Oakenfold DJ there. http://www.intochinatravel.com/the-7-coolest-clubs-in-beijing/

If you're going through Shanghai, there are a lot of cool bars and restaurants (rooftop) overlooking the Bund. https://theculturetrip.com/asia/china/articles/the-10-best-rooftop-bars…

Also, would recommend going to the Cloud 9 cafe at the Grand Hyatt. https://www.worldsbestbars.com/bar/shanghai/city-center/cloud-9
