Bank of america Global Corporate banking Summer internship offer

I have an offer from Bank of America Corporate Banking and also from MM investment banks. I want to go buy-side eventually, and know that IBanking is the best way to do this. Is BofA corporate banking (and trying to lateral into IBanking full-time) a smart or too risky strategy? Should I just take an IBanking job at a MM firm for the IBanking experience?

I was looking at MM to PE placements the other day. If its a top tier MM or a good group I'd say you'd have better options when it comes to PE recruiting and better chances at an elite MBA if that's necessary down the line.

You might want to subtract some of the detail from this post - it will be pretty easy for your employer to identify you should they come across this post, and given your questions, that's not necessarily a good thing.

Edited it. Thank you.

Good call, much better now.

1) Yes 2) Commercial Banking Credit Analyst / Underwriter 3) ~60K + 2-5Ksigning bonus depending on location 4) Yes there are Comm Banking Credit Analysts in the One Bryant Park NY office. Kill it over the summer and get the return offer and tell them you would like to work in NY instead 5) Hard to tell, it'll be easier if you did Corporate Banking Credit. End of the day, yes you have to network if you want to go into IBD at BAML.

Would imagine it to be mostly fit, but be prepared for the "what would you look at if you were evaluating a company for a loan or other credit product"?

Once you are in the door anything is possible with networking.
