What type of Sophomore Internship is good

I’m currently a sophomore at the top public school in North Carolina (haha) and want a SA position in New York for 2021. This last summer I had a small PWM internship and have a 3.9 GPA. What types of internship would be best for this summer in either the Raleigh are where I’m from, Charlotte or New York if I’m im unable to get one that is specifically an investment banking analyst or private equity position.

anything in financial services that you can talk about in interviews for 2020 positions - AM, PWM, PE, IB, etc. all work if you have some discussion points

Funniest

With a 3.9 GPA from UNC (hah) and PWM internship you should have no trouble getting a boutique IBD internship for this summer. Start networking now, a lot of boutiques won't even look at resumes until February.

I recommend Tobin & Co, really good pay, experience, and deal flow.

Thanks for your response, I’m definitely looking to boutique IBD as my first priority. If that doesn’t pan out, would something like the financial analyst program at Wells help, or should I go all in for a position where I would work on deals.

Sounds good. Wells Fargo and BAML should both have something for sophomores in the area. A boutique IB internship isn't necessary for junior year SA since you have a high GPA from a semitarget that places decently well, but it'll go a long way in setting you apart.

Also don't actually apply to Tobin & Co btw lol.
