Which Firms Provide Visas within the SWE & MC space?
I'm trying to gather a comprehensive list of which firms offer sponsorship within the SWE and Management Consulting space.
To kick off the discussion, I'll list the management consulting firms I know that provide sponsorships:
- Oliver Wyman
- Chares River Associates
- Bain & Company
- McKinsey & Company
- Boston Consulting Group
What are your qualifications?
Bachelor's from Canada with internship experience in accounting, corp fin, and 2 (hr & strategy) consulting positions. I'm trying to break into US.
UWaterloo? From a visa standpoint, do you have any kind of work authorization in the US (OPT, etc.)? If not, you could try. If you're good, don't worry about sponsorship. One thing I'd say is sponsorship for entry-level is more difficult.
I think it’s extremely rare for a US firm to provide a job to someone who already doesn’t have some kind of a visa (for example, OPT/F-1, H1B, etc.). The best way For you if you don’t have that would be to get a job in Canada and then internally transfer to the US on the L-1 visa.
sorry for ignorance, but i thought that Canadians could work under TN visa for certain roles. It was particularly common on wall street. Is it not applicable for consulting?
What I've seen is that most firms that hire Canadian citizens will apply for a TN visa on the candidate's behalf after the candidate signed the job offer.
