Why is PJT doing so well?

https://www.fnlondon.com/articles/taubmans-pjt-to…

Article for reference - genuinely curious what about PJT is making it do well relative to the others. I have offers from the London office for PJT and Credit Suisse, and was leaning towards the latter (for the brand name) but I'm reconsidering after reading a bit about it on this site/online. What do you guys think? I'm mainly concerned about their cultures and which will be more useful for the end goal of start-up. Thanks for your help!

Look, different people will have different opinions, but you cannot really go wrong here.

CS has historically been strong in Europe and has decent exits especially if from LevFin/Sponsors. Culture will vary on a team by team basis. If a start-up is your end-goal, the name is better than PJT outside the finance circles.

PJT is very strong in Rx, less so in M&A but you will be covering companies accross sectors which can be both attractive or not - ie make yourself an idea of which field is being/can be disrupted by startups, but working in TMT at CS would allow you to focus on Tech (thus cover some unicorns, software companies etc). Culture at PJT is nice, but expect long hours.

Thanks that’s really helpful. I think after a bit more research I’ll go with PJT because of culture and generalist program. Not too fussed about the name as I’m of the view that meeting the right people/network will go further.
