Would you be on a reality TV show for your job?

Recently, a MAJOR television network has approached my girlfriend's company in hopes of doing a TV show. It is a startup in its industry (not financial) and had a similar show a few years back that ended.

The girlfriend is extremely hesistant, she just joined a few months back and her boss is bat shit crazy. She also just graduated so is still building that experience.

Nothing is finalized yet but what would you guys do? Would you be on the TV show for your job? We all know TV networks can take the show whichever way they choose and could end up reflecting poorly and hurting her in the long run.

I'm assuming I would get paid for this theoretical gig? If so, hell ya. I'd probably be more productive because I'd spend less time BSing on the internet.

I would think there's a lot more upside than downside. Even if she comes off as a loon, she could make a career out of that. Look at Omarosa from the Apprentice.

CruncharooThat would be one boring show.

Well its not financial services but figured you guys could share opinions regardless. Extremely surprised so far by the respones, look forward to hearing more opinions.

She is worried her boss' insane bitchiness would reflect on her.

Hah, that's even better! The producers would probably paint her boss in a bad light as the show's antagonist, making your girl look even better in the process

"Here's Cruncharoo in excel again, same as the last 10 hours. He's PDF'ing the file.... and sent! Phew, only 15 minutes to spare on the deadline. Join us again tomorrow when he enters edits from his MD."

This to all my hatin' folks seeing me getting guac right now..

Is the major network MTV? If so, just know that the producers might request your gf to have sex with her coworker/mailman/attractive male friend... all in the name of keeping "reality," you feel me?

"Yes. Money has been a little bit tight lately, but at the end of my life, when I'm sitting on my yacht, am I gonna be thinking about how much money I have? No. I'm gonna be thinking about how many friends I have and my children and my comedy albums."

Or maybe the OP could guest star. That shit worked for Scott Disick

Why are they being approached? Is it because the show wants to follow a startup or is it because they're looking for an office that belongs on Jerry Springer? The way you wrote the post it sounds like the show will be focusing on startup companies. If so, that sounds pretty safe.

I'd do it for sure. Is your gf cute? IF her boss is still acts crazy (which he/she may not) then she'll probably be framed as the cute/innocent hardworking girl who has a horrible boss.

accountingbydayIs your gf cute?
Is there any possibility he says no to this question?

A: is your gf cute? B: no, she's pretty...........pretty ugly.

Busted as hell. Duh. 0/10 but seriously blonde hair, blue eyes, fit. She's a dimepiece.

Its not MTV, and i guess i'll just say the industry. It is for public relations and since they run lots of events for companies and celebrities come and all that spotlight shit they want to do a show on it. Plus its a new PR company with only a handful of people so would be easier to film and less corporate etc.

This is a good point CRE. And i've always wanted to be the next Scott Disick. Haha

"There's no such thing as bad publicity"

that's a stretch, but if her boss is a bitch, I don't see why that would make your girlfriend look bad... if anything she can point her future interviewers in the direction of the show and be all like "look at the way I handled that bitch! like a boss." (word for word)

I'd do it in a heartbeat... how many idiots from reality shows are making money solely because of their appearances on said show? I'm sure she would feel the heat to be on the top of her game, and she should, but that'd probably be a good thing. This sounds like a great opportunity. If she comes of as a good worker, the positives to that would be amazing. If she gets spun into some idiot for the sake of the show, I'm sure most people will be able to realize that reality tv isn't "reality".... and she'll probably still have followers ha.
