WSO's Dream Team?

Could this be WSO's dream team ticket? If I know one thing on this board, there is always a political fight over the candidates, and 99% of the time it's about who is better for the job - Romney or Paul. Well, according to Santorum we get both....

http://harndenblog.dailymail.co.uk/2012/02/santor…

I do know that Paul and Romney have become pretty good friends of the last few years. I also watched the debate last night and Paul was definitely helping Romney. Now is their any basis to what Santorum is saying? Probably not. He is more then likely just pissed off about the ass whooping he took from the two of them last night.

With that said, would a Romney / Paul ticket get any of you excited?

I'd rather see Paul as Secretary of the Treasury than VP, if only because of his age. He's not exactly a young buck (but would kick your ass in a bicycle race.) That would place us a gunshot and a steak with too much fat on it away from having President Boehner in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

I could maybe get enthusiastic about a Romney/Paul ticket. Definitely better than anything with Santorum on it.

You know, I don't think Paul would actually do it, though the concept of him moderating Romney's foreign policy a bit would be nice. If anything, I imagine that Paul is setting himself up to get a nice speaking spot at the convention, assuming that Romney wins the nomination.

A lot of the respect, I think, really comes from the fact that they're both pretty straight laced family men with good personal values and an admiration for true capitalism.

i really like paul's style...he's just too radical with regard to the Fed. interesting though about putting him in the Treasury, but I ultimately think he's all about the presidency or nothing at all. Just a hunch.

Totally. Why should we have a truly free, capitalist monetary system? Fixing rates is a form of price fixing and therefore socialist, but it's been proven to work perfectly. After all, the Fed just fueled the greatest boom-bust since the great depression, so why wouldn't we want to let the Fed keep doin' what it do?

There are too many welfare bums for Dr. Paul to be elected POTUS, but with Romney's considerable resources, it just might happen. However, it is extremely unlikely, and Santorum is a New Earth loon who falls into the same bucket as Sarah Palin.

Then again, this whole discussion is moot, since Emperor Obama is just going to ride the improved (fabricated) employment numbers into his second term.

It's a sad reflection of our society when true capitalists like Dr. Paul are shunned as "radicals".

Calling Ron Paul an isolationist is like calling your neighbor a hermit because he doesn't come over to your property and break your windows.

I just found a great Ron Paul quote: Calling Ron Paul an isolationist is like calling your neighbor a hermit, because he doesn't come over your property and break your windows.

Here's an awesome (albeit impractical idea): Why not let Ron be President and Mitt VP? That way the repubs can win and Ron can train Mitt to not be such a flip-flopper when Mitt runs later. Ron can destroy Obama and Mitt can destroy Biden in one on one debates.

I would love to see a Romney-Paul ticket, though I don't know if that would be the best option. I do have a lot of respect for Paul's moral character, so their friendship gives me more confidence in putting my vote behind Romney.
