WWIII

Looks like things are getting heated.

"Senior military officials say the U.S. is looking into whether Russia participated in Syria's chemical weapons attack earlier this week."

http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2017/0…

Sad sad day. Obviously, I believe in the truth and faith of the free republic of American states without a doubt. Russia undeniably participated in this masterful and strategic chemical attack that turned the tides of this civil war.

Better roll out selective service registration to all American women ASAP. Going to have to call up the reserves.

My Russian handlers say get ready for war.

Great contribution. Anyone that questions the motives of the pentagon is obviously a Russian troll.

I'm sure you were cheering on Bush with his overturn of Saddam. Still looking for the WMDs.

This theater is escalating. Now we're accusing Russia of actively taking part in the gas attack. That seem reasonable?

Sorry, but those who fail to question their leaders are just sheep.

It's not so simple as you're making it out to be, TNA. Everyone knows that without Putin's support to shield Assad from international action, Assad would be keeping his nose way more clean. Sure, I doubt Russia was directly complicit in the chemical attacks - but I think in the eyes of the West, it is long past due for Russia to be called out directly for aiding and abetting a leader who is allowing chemical weapon attacks to take place under his rule. Otherwise we will persist in this charade of "Syria violates international law -> Russia says that's unacceptable, but fails to act decisively, thereby purchasing time and coverage for Assad -> U.S. and NATO do nothing because they don't want to antagonize Russia."

Assad hasn't actually done anything illegal as far as chemical weapons go. There are multiple experts in this area who said it is unlikely it was Assad, not to mention the chemical weapons watchdog hasn't come out with any official report because they haven't finished it yet. But every american journalist is obviously an international relations expert and is on the ground in the thick of things despite that no American journalists have been in Syria in almost 2 years.

Fair point - but there's the world of politics as it truly is, and there's the world of politics as it is filtered through the prism of social institutions like the media. The citizens don't have access to the former, only the latter - and so to the powers that be, they have to back channel with one another in one way, and act their role out in the public's eye in another.

I can't believe how short the memory of Americans are these days. For fucks sake, the MSM can't even remember that the last gas attack turned out to be rebels with Turkish weapons. Also seem to have forgotten all of the Obama dick sucking they did when Assad agreed to destroy his chemical weapons. As if Obama actually did anything in that whole fiasco, the Russians came up with the idea and led point on that.

Well they couldn't ever say 100% who it was but it was Turkish gas and was deployed in a way that wasn't possible with the hardware that Assad has. What annoys me the most about these things are the fact that both of these gas attacks happened when Assad had a serious advantage and upper hand. Why would he do something this stupid and draw major international attention and support for his enemies? You basically have a bunch of insane terrorists on the opposite team as Assad and who don't give a fuck about any civilians. So we have a guy who still has to try and run a country or a bunch of sociopaths who just kill people for fun, who do you think would do something like this?

I think you guys are failing to consider that just because something isn't real doesn't mean it can't impact realpolitik.

If the people of the world believe that Trump intervened on behalf of innocent lives and that Russia and Assad are the bad guys, and this furthers our national interest, does the truth really matter?

I understand that I'm coming off as a proponent of Orwellian doublespeak and using human lives as instruments for consolidation of power, which I fucking despise. But hey, that's reality for you, sadly.

I'm sure most folks have read 1984 right? Like when Winston is reading the Brotherhood's book and it's saying how the super powers constantly are fighting unwinnable (or neverending) wars in the Middle East in order to prevent that extra money from being reinvested into each countries' respective economy forcing the lower and middle classes into worsening living conditions? That's what comes to mind when I see alllllll this shit. The shadow government just stirring the war pot
