Big four to IB/PE ?
Hope everybody enjoyed their summer,
What's the reputation of big four firms within the BB's and EB's? My school is very well connected with PwC and I feel like I have a good shot of landing a risk assurance position internships/job if IB goes south. Does anybody know any exit opps or more information about the field?
Thank you,
Big 4 gets some respect but IB looks much better and will generally will out in a face to face interview setting
Risk assurance to PE is never going to happen. Moving to IB as an associate is realistic, but these firms hire 1000s of entry level people in NYC, a lot of whom are room temp IQs...so it doesn’t necessarily stand out positively when recruiting.
B4 M&A, consulting and valuation services are all better options.
Deal Advisory is probably the smoothest transition, especially with PwC. Don't discount their Corporate Finance division, as that is a boutique IB
Lol, PwC fired half their CF division in 18/19 due to over hiring and lack of deal flow.
You would be better suited to lateral to TAS (1st choice) and Val (2nd) before trying to lateral to IB. I've seen quite a few Big 4 TAS > MMs, but not sure on BB/EB
