Is It Okay to Push a Friend

I was fortunate enough to accept an offer for Summer 2020. However, I have some friends who haven't had any luck yet, but some recruiters are still reaching out to schedule first-rounds for me.

Would it be okay for me to recommend the recruiters check my friends out? Thanks.

I first would ask them about them and experience in joining the summer program. After that, I would ask if management is looking for others. Remember, your friends will be a reflection of yourself if you give them a recommendation. They will be reflection of you and your recommendation.

"It's okay, I'll see you on the other side"

I think that’s fine, I always used to just tell the recruiter that you have personally accepted but would love to share the opportunity with some of your peers that would be fit for the job. Usually the recruiter will respect that and be open

Happened to me, had an offer from a firm but had an offer from a better firm, recommended a friend with a similar profile, he got straight to superday and got the offer. What is also worth doing is introducing him to your network.

Only do that if your friend is at least equally as good as you. He will owe you a big one that can be quite usefull in the future!

If your friends are good candidates, then referring them for the job is a positive thing. Firms need talented people and talented people need jobs. If there's a match, everyone wins.

I don't see any reason why not - if anything, it's a very magnanimous move and I'm sure your friends will appreciate the push hugely. Also, providing you reject the recruiter's advances with sufficient politeness and tact, you won't burn any bridges unnecessarily - if your mate gets the gig to boot, it'll also probably raise your profile in the recruiter's view.
