Do Equity Research analysts typically cover stocks on other countries exchanges?

I have some ER interviews coming up. I eventually want to become an analyst covering the video game industry. Some companies like Ubisoft, Square Enix, Tencent etc. are not listed on US exchanges. Do research analysts typically cover companies that are listed on foreign exchanges? Are these OTC companies usually looked at by cleints?

I have gone through the coverage lists of some analysts at the firms I have been applying to and I haven’t seen any company that are listed on foreign exchanges.

you get the rare analyst covering a European stock as part of large sector if the businesses are really closely related. it's rare/difficult to cover foreign stocks. to be bluntly honest, you are probably a negative value add because you have no insight into local trading dynamics. no one in china or japan is calling you up to talk about tencent or sony and you're not generating any trading commissions for your firm because of it, so your time spent on those stocks is basically wasted as far as your director of research is concerned
