Is there a way to pivot without doing an MBA?
I am a recent graduate with a master's degree from a target school but not in a finance subject (social sciences although not an overly quantitative one). I do not have much experience although I have done the WSO internship. I am currently at a crossroads where I no longer want to be in academia (I used to want to apply for PhD) but not sure what I can do to break into IB short of doing an MBA. I would be interested in Analyst positions in New York and London, but I finished undergrad a few years ago now so I am not sure how my application would look or if it is even possible to get into finance at this stage
I would appreciate any and all advice people have to offer
Do you have any internships or full time experience? Can you get a corporate finance job for a few years to get finance experience? At least in NY, you need minimum 2-3 years of actual work experience (doesn't need to be in finance) to be even considered out of MBA.
WSO internship doesn't really count (sorry WSO, but you need in-person, finance-based work experience)
