I recently started getting into Blackjack and have been memorizing basic strategy (~90% down) and practicing counting cards. I really enjoy it and thought it would be fun to make a NYC-based blackjack group where we could practice counting together and memorizing basic strategy and then hit casinos and try to make money. Blackjack isn’t where you make money unless you have a team like in 21. It’s a tough grind where you end up only winning 54% of the time if you’re a top notch card counter.
Poker is where it’s at.
Yeah just basic strategy won't do, gotta learn deviations based on count + not get caught with obvious counting. My gambling cup of tea personally is sports betting.
