PE to Corporate?

How many of you guys in PE left for corporate roles whether that be Corp Dev or in-house for an AI startup along those lines? I’m seeing a trend…One of my buddies I worked with in banking did that and when I search Linkedin I see a lot with top MBAs (Wharton, Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, NYU Stern, etc.). I would just honestly stay in PE until I’m burned out which I assume is happening lol.

This isn’t the case across the board though

Some corp dev roles pay the same or more up until VP / Principal. Head of Corp dev is a $1M+ comp role in many places

Some pay less on cash but more on vesting equity (which is close to cash for pubcos not so much private), which materializes more than phantom equity or carry you don’t even have as a Junior PE

Pay PROGRESSION is the real downside and the learning / development of being in-industry and potentially with a very narrow scope. On the flipside you may have significantly more ownership in a company role, or potential to seize ownership of things given your experience

Can you please pm me with how you found the opportunity? Currently a first year in PE and looking to make a similar move to corporate. Tysm
