Main Capital Partners (Boston) Info

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had information on this PE shop based in Boston. They do tech and software investing and seems interesting as they are based in the netherlands. If anyone had any info on culture, comp, investments, and anything else it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

One example from the top of my head is that they recently persuaded a company in EU (I think Netherlands) to let Main acquire them, everything went smoothly until the day after they signed. Then from out of nowhere Main told them that they were no longer considered a platform investment but an add-on to another new company and that they would be merged into that organization(which makes a pretty dam big difference). This has of course gotten out and it terrifies other entrepreneurs.

They are also known for being very ‘big private equity corporate’ towards their portfolio companies, which doesn’t fly well at all in the SaaS LMM niche.

Long story short,I’ve heard from multiple companies myself that they would never consider Main as a buyer due to the above and more.

Thanks for the info, any info on Boston office or culture? Seems like they only have 7 ppl, but in europe they seem relativley big

Bump also any color on their case (said 2 hours including presentation so maybe no model?)
