Fidelity

Fidelity Investments has a broad range of roles within the branch (investor center).

For the most common roles I know, there is the Financial Representative (FR) who handles the front desk, appointment check ins, and operational tasks such as processing paperwork, some money movement, etc.

Relationship Managers and Planning Consultants make up the support side. RM's and PC's engage with clients and look to assist the sales/business development oriented folks with operational tasks like setting appointments and performing some financial planning tasks.

Investment Consultants, Financial Consultants, and VP Financial Consultants all perform similar roles. They manage a list of clients while continuing to prospect for new ones via Fidelity's tools. Obtaining the CFP is encouraged, at least in my local area.

VP, Wealth Planners are professionals like CFP's who handle HNW/UHNW clients with more complex needs than a VP, FC may handle. Overall, the roles have compensation structures that have some mix of base+bonus/commission.

This is what I discovered from talking to branch employees plus what is disclosed on Fidelity's public documents explaining compensation.

If someone has more detail, feel free to add below.
