I'm curious, w/ FT recruiting as brutal as it was, how many seniors ended up applying for SA positions? If you did, were you able to land a spot?
I got murdered by FT recruiting... had a few interviews (all went well) my interviewers and contacts w/in the firms tried to push me forward, but HR wouldn't budge. HR said that slots for all non-targets were completely slashed and they were only taking a handful of students from targets.
I applied to SA positions (I am enrolled in a program where I have the option of continuing education into next year if I wish to complete the program - I decided, however, to leave the program off my resume, so it appeared as if I were a regular senior applying for SA). Got a few offers. Not once did an interviewer ask me why a senior was applying for SA, so I guess it was more common than I thought.
