Naps in Ibanking
Just woke up from a 30 minute nap.
How many of you guys take naps for those of you who get less than 7 hours of sleep a night? I find myself a lot more productive by taking a couple naps during the day. even if it just closing my eyes for 10 minutes during downtime.
thoughts?
if you can pull it off...personally coffee is the only way I make it through....associates here are like hawks.
do a bit of research, you'll find your awakeness is not related to your sleep hours, but your REM sleep hours. look into that and it will change your life. Techniques for doing it work, trust
yeah i read a little about sleeping hacking. taking shorter naps during the day. Not a good idea for ibanking when things are so unpredictable. But i usually find it easy to find 30minutes to take a nap or two during the day.
Do you mean napping at your desk with nobody noticing, or do you go somewhere? I sometimes pass out for 10-15 minutes in my chair but only in the evenings when senior people aren't here and fewer people are walking around.
Bathroom stalls or live really close and sneak out.
tough when you are surrounded by all the senior guys..like me
I work close to the parking deck so i just nap in my car. I also work really close to the window in the corner of the floor. (nobody can see me unless they enter my cubicle) none does because they have better things to do. So i I sometimes just take naps on my desk...feels so good. and if I'm gone...no one really notices. but when im really tired i hit up the back seat in the good old civic with a pillow. let just hope i get a return offer so i continue doing this for another two years.
He's living the dream.
just went to sleep on my desk again! I mean it feels great but I want to stop. I haven't had this schedule in a while. my classes last semester started at 2pm at the earliest. Do you guys get used to the 5-6 hours of sleep a night?
My deal team had me crank out a freaking deep dive on potential target ....last fucking minute....in additioin to another deliverable I had.
I pulled an all-nighter and ended up taking a nap in the MDs for said pitch. 9am rolls along. He walks into the office and finds me sleeping at his desk. He wakes me up, I hand him the deck as if nothing unusual occurs and tell him I've got to be on a 10am call for another deal.
nap in the bathroom plz

Toilet napping (Originally Posted: 01/14/2014)
Just saw this on Twitter. I love the dichotomy that exists between those that are shocked this is occurring, and those that are shocked that people didn't know this was occurring. http://www.businessinsider.com/Barclays-interns-toilet-napping-2014-1
oh yeah, toilet naps saved me a few times back in the day...
You'd be surprised at how passing out for ~5 min refreshes you - I always went with the private stalls where you couldn't see ppls' feet.
This is pretty much a necessity. Drop a deuce, play some Temple Run 2 and have a quick nap, nothing like it.
the trick is to use the toilet paper roll as a pillow
Pop a squat, chug a coffee, set the BB to go off in 8 minutes and catch some z's. Wake up a new man. A depraved man but a new man none the less.
In Corp Fin our hours aren't so bad so the nap isn't necessary, but I've long used the toilet break when I need 5-10 min away. Grab your iphone and check social media, play a game, read WSO, etc... or just close your eyes and relax for a few minutes. It's a great break during the day.
Pretty much everyone has done this at some point. Even at places where people are OK with analysts crashing on MD's couched, people straight up fall asleep by accident in the stall while dropping a deuce.
Forgot the username, but someone on WSO took a toilet nap and ended up falling asleep for 2 hours, woke up with a dozen voicemail on his BlackBerry wondering where he was
When Blackberry's were the norm, the toilet was the best place for playing brickbreaker.
Possible to nap in the office bathroom? (Originally Posted: 07/05/2012)
Is it? If so, any tips? Would appreciate any and all advice!
1) Enter office bathroom 2) Pick a stall... any stall 3) Pop and squat and drop trou 4) Let the dreams begin
Follow those 4 steps and you're golden
No joke - make sure you don't snore
Yes, make sure that while you're unconscious you prevent yourself from performing an involuntary action.
Every analyst has experienced the feeling of your legs falling asleep during the afternoon shbreak.
What about pretending to go the gym ? But actually falling asleep
What would your excuse he wholst your sleeping in the bathroom ?
Tbh, I would only need like a good 20-minute power nap to get myself through the 12am-3/4am hell slot.
Rookie mistake using the toilet stalls. Use one of those personnal phone booths that every floor has and sleep there. Nobody goes in as everyone has cell phones nowadays, no crap smell to worry about and you have a desk to rest your head.
