I'm just wondering if you can make the transition from McDonald's to PE? I've heard it's pretty easy if you get into the right group. Right now I have offers at McDonald's, Wendy's and one to be a garbageman. I'm leaning towards Mickey D's, but it's a general offer, I find out my group later. I hear the Nuggets group has the best exit opps but if you get shoved in fries you'll have to stick around an be a career cooker.
I register just to post this. I read through these posts and could not get over how immature many of them were. I was in banking from 1996-1998 and have since moved on in my career. I see so much talk about private equity/hedge funds making millions and retiring, it makes me feel like this board is made up soley of freshman college kids who have never worked a day in their lives. Let me give you some facts that might make you all rethink being able to retire at 35.
I have a feeling someone might be doing some weekend work on this, so before we start this process, let's make sure not to put all of our eggs in one basket - if there are too many roosters in the henhouse and too many cooks in the kitchen, we will be letting the wolf into the chicken coop and this will be a hard nut to crack. At the end of the day - looking at the product from 15,000 feet - it's just a blackbox resting on a slippery slope. But from a bottoms-up perspective - we're pretty smart guys and doing this from soup to nuts will leave us with bird in hand and create some serious value-added.

"The WSO Investment Banking Interview Course was my main study guide and I landed the exact job I wanted, so obviously it was a great investment. The packet was excellent in helping me understand balance sheets, all that technical stuff. I went through 2 months of training afterwards at [BB bank] so I understand the packet even better (almost 100% now)...ha!"

"I had made it to 2nd and final rounds at a few PE funds, but no offer. The first interview after going through this course I made it to the final rounds and got an offer! I think WSO PE package made the difference - in fact, one of the LBO modeling tests I got in the 2nd round was almost identical to one of the 1 hour LBO ones in the package. Having that modeling practice and the confidence going into the interview is priceless.."

"The HF Interview Course was instrumental in building out my knowledge of the space. Essentially a HF 101 course. Invaluable to have it all in one location and helped me transition from PE into hedge funds successfully..."
