Jean – Claude Trichet is a man of words, and while most credit the Euro’s swan dive to the silver bloodbath, fact of the matter is it was his words that helped push it off the ledge.

Scrapping the “vigilant” and “monitoring very closely” rhetoric, the ECB chief surprised traders expecting a rate hike to dump the common currency.

What the hell do those mean anyway?
