Comvest Private Debt

Have an interview with these guys for their Chicago office - does anybody with more experience in private debt have opinions on this shop / their reputation? It sounds like they have been busy and are growing but haven’t been able to find much on them and I want to evaluate the opportunity relative to staying in New York.

Not the guy above but did you end up going there or somewhere else, any insight on comp? Saw your recent Q&A post, have you seen anyone transition straight from a direct lending role at a place like Owl Rock/Golub to a special situations/distressed role without Rx experience?

I went somewhere else. I have seen a lot of people switch from RX to DL, and some the other way around, but haven’t seen anyone I can think of that went directly from DL to a distressed seat. It’s tough to get interviews in my experience, but the line between vanilla lending and special sits / distressed stuff seems to be blurring. I personally took a RX role before I realized that wasn’t for me long term and moved to distressed.
