Interview
Applied thorough career service received an email to set up a phone interview. Stared with a phone interview consisting of primarily behavioral questions. Then was given a PI assessment (IQ) to complete. Was called into the office for an in-person interview between 3 people (Compliance, HR, and Senior Research Analyst) all 1 on 1. Compliance and HR were mostly fit questions and resume questions. With the Senior Research Analyst it was more technical testing what I know and what I will be working on, a lot on portfolio optimization and research. Was called with offer and asked to be screened/fingerprinted per FINRA guidelines.

I became connected to some employees at Lincoln through an externship program I did. The culture of the firm was very friendly, so I decided to apply for a summer internship position with the firm. I participated in an on campus interview with a representative from the firm who was very friendly and laid back. Mostly behavioral questions were asked to determine your fit for the openings that they currently have.

Interview
I worked as an assistant for a top producer who sold all of Lincoln Financial's products. He had a top 20 JD/MBA and had worked at Finra for 4 years before going back to school and moving over to Lincoln. His day consisted of consulting law firms and small businesses on everything ranging from security fraud cases to employee stock ownership plans. I did everything from picking insurance allocations to researching prospects. Referred by family friend. Went through a series of 3 phone interviews, an IQ test, and a couple excel tests.
Interview Questions
Does anyone look up to you? This was an unexpected question but not hard for me to answer. I spoke about my younger brother and how he's followed me through all of the steps of my life. This gave me a chance to help him avoid a lot of the mistakes that I had made. I talked about how he had gone to the same college as me and had the same major, but was able to do a ton of things in school that I wished I had. It also gave me the opportunity to talk about how I had helped him avoid a lot of the mistakes that I had made throughout out life, but had the resilience to bounce back from.
Who was your idol growing up? I spoke about a family friend who had started a business and how he had given me insight into the inner workings of a small business. I talked about how he had given me an entrepreneurial drive that had caused me to attempt to start a couple small businesses growing up.
