Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
Applied online was contacted to set up phone interview. At the end of the phone interview the interviewer told me they would like to have me come in for an in person interview. A week later a person from HR contacted me and I came in for a group interview in front of a panel of three people. Most of the questions were pretty straightforward (Why RVK? Why are you qualified? What about your background? etc...). Following the first interview I had one more group interview and was offered the job.
Interview Questions
Why RVK? (Pretty standard question but there was really nothing that special about the firm that attracted me other than I wanted to work at an investment consulting firm. It would be good to bear in mind that the firm is looking to retain people so phrase question accordingly.

Why did you choose Economics (my major) and what attracts you to working in investing?

What unique qualities do you bring to this position over other candidates?

What about your background has prepared you to succeed in this position?

Interview
The interview process was relatively short and I was sort of ruled out from the beginning because I was only a sophomore in college as opposed to a junior which is the academic standing they were looking for. The interview consisted mostly of behavioral/personal questions. Strengths, weaknesses, walk me through your resume, etc.
Interview Questions
Walk me through your resume/ why RVK?/ what do you offer us that no other candidate does?

I feel like this question is pretty typical of any interview so this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.
Talk about a time you worked in a group on a project (they will follow up with this by asking you to email a pdf of the project report you discuss)

Interview
Applied through career center. Received phone call from HR manager within aprox. a week to schedule an informational interview over the phone. Informational interview would have been very brief if I had not prepared questions. Led to a group interview with current analyst and a manager. They asked behavioral questions and afterwords a basic excel skills and finance knowledge test.

Interview
Initial contact at the firm was established through on-campus recruiting. Once contacts have been made, getting a phone interview seemed to be fairly commonplace and straightforward. Fairly standard and basic content in the phone interview (walk through the resume, why is this something that interests you, etc.). In-person interviews seem commonplace as well for the first round, but there were several rounds and consist of both group and one-on-one interviews. Content of the interviews is not challenging, however it is important to know anything you speak to well and be able to defend your positions, including your basic thoughts on things from your resume to investment ideas, etc. There seemed to be a bit of a "gotcha" culture, and interviewers aren't afraid to press. Fit also seemed to be a primary area where they tried to feel you out.
Interview Questions
Q: I see that you had a minor in [certain unrelated area to the job], do you believe that this is [question about key basis for debate among the subject?]
A: I happened to receive a question on a minor of mine that was unrelated to the job, but that one of the interviewers was somewhat versed in. Looking back, the point of the question I believe was to view how I established an opinion and then defended that position, no matter the answer that I presented. I was completely caught off guard, however, as the area was outside of typical material that I studied and brushed up on prior to the interview (not to mention I hadn't had a class in that area in a while). This should just reinforce that you need to know your resume cold and any topic adjacent to it if you decide to put it on paper.

Interview
Applied on university website. Was contacted 2 months later wanting to schedule a 1 on 1 phone interview with the head of the PMA department. That interview was strictly behavioral. Was told at the end of that interview I had made it to the next round and had a phone interview a week later with the same department head, and 3 current senior investment analysts (in 3rd/final year of program). Interview was slightly more technical - asking about portfolio metrics such as Sharpe Ratio and Information Ratios. Several questions about benchmarking, and different asset classes.

The PMA dept. here is very young. all college hires, almost all under the age of 25. A very laid back culture, but you also put in 60-70 hours a week.
Interview Questions
What metrics do you like to use when evaluating a portfolio?

I discussed using Sharpe Ratios and Information ratios on a portfolio I managed through school. They seemed to like this
If you had the choice to do 2 job functions, but could only do one of them exclusively, which would you choose: Would you rather crunch numbers, build models, and get usable data? Or would you rather be given the usable data and have to interpret it?

As a follow up: which are you better at?

I said I would rather analyze data b/c I am a result-oriented person, they also liked this
