Interview
Applied online and then got invited to play some online games that test if you are a good fit for the current position. You then have a hirevue interview. It is not too hard if you have a general business knowledge. Got invited to interview in New Jersey with all expenses paid for. Final interview consisted of 2 one-on-one behavioral interviews and a group case study.
Interview Questions
Interview had very basic behavioral questions and therefore was not too hard. The case interview was the most challenging part. We were put in groups of 4 and had a business case that involved a packaging problem for one of their products in Eastern Europe. Had to figure out if we wanted to go with a more environmentally friendly approach or an approach that cared more about profits. We were given specific information about the cost and selling price of the product. We were also given information about plant and transportation costs and had to base our answers on this information. We were also asked multiple questions about the

Interview
- Submitted online application, including CV and motivational questions, "Why Unilever?" and "Why finance within Unilever?".
- Invited to complete numerical test, pretty standard, provider is SHL.
- Invited to telephone interview. It took place about 1.5 months after submitting my online application. Telephone interview consisted of situational questions (have a look at their Standards of Leadership; they base their questions on each one of them), plus motivational questions (why Unilever) and questions about the role (what role do you think Finance plays at Unilever).
Interview Questions
I had not prepared enough for the situational questions, so do prepare examples for each of the Standards of Leadership. Personally I was asked:
- On "Growth mindset": "Tell me about a time when you took initiative". They will then give you probing questions, for me it was "What would you have done differently?".
- On "Bias for action": "Tell me about a time when you had to make a difficult decision, and influenced others to take course". This is the one I had not prepared for, and it caught me off guard.
