I already got my ticket and, barring a very busy workday, I'll be there.

I'm extremely psyched to bid for some of the silent auction items. The idea of having lunch with someone like Bob McCann, Rob McGuire, Joe Shenker (He's the Chairman of Law Firm Sullivan & Cromwell - which is kind of a huge deal especially given how many deals Sullivan & Cromwell has advised on - and has advised on hundreds of transactions across the entire spectrum of finance), or Whitney Tilson should be extremely attractive to anyone. Getting one on one face time with very important people is priceless. There are also some other stuff on the list (Lunch and a tour of Facebook sounds like it could be fantastic!) that would be cool as well. I'm psyched for this and have some serious money set aside for some of the items being bid on. If you can, get a ticket and go! It's going to be worth it.

Plus, it actually goes to a good cause. I'm not one to talk about charities because I don't think it's my place to but this is one of the few times that I will gladly do so. Being Jersey Born, I know how the education system fails many more than it should, particularly those in cities like Newark and Camden where so many bright students are turned away from charter schools or are left to fend for themselves in some of the worst school systems the state has to offer. Much like it's sister charity, New York Needs You, New Jersey Needs You takes aim at helping those bright minds from lower income environments get much needed mentorship to help them reach their full potential. I know we always talk about how important it is here to have a good mentor and learn from them. Just like many of us look for mentors to guide us, NJNY provides mentorship opportunities to those bright students striving to learn and grow. I know it sounds like I'm shilling for this, but for those of us on WSO who grew up in NJ and can attest to how having a good education makes all the difference, this is a chance to provide guidance for those without that good education many of us have gotten and put them on a better track.

I'll be attending this. This is a great charity and I encourage anyone who can to attend and buy a ticket (list Mags as your referral source also!!). It is important to help out and give back, especially for something like this which tries and help youth with a positive role model.

I hope to see some of you in attendance. This is a cause worth supporting.

Haha. I will be traveling from Philly, but thanks! I'll try and make another happy hour soon.

PM, I believe we met at the conference, but I forget.

Looks like a great cause, cannot attend but will look into it in the future.

Side-question, how do fundraisers such as this, select young board members? Always wondered.

Gray Fox$100 to have lunch with Whitney Tilson? Or the head of diversity at JP Morgan?

I'll take 12 trips to Chipotle instead

Actually I retract that statement, Ackman's first great trade was going short something that Tilson told him was a great long, and the inverse Tilson strategy tracked by Zero Hedge has generated some serious alpha, it might definitely be worth $100.

$100 bucks gets you in the door, not the auction. This is for a great cause and will be a nice way to meet other people who give back to the community. Considering how many ballers we have on this site a hundo shouldn't be a big deal.

TheOneandOnlyRDworth it to go if you are an UG to meet some folks in the industry? I go to events as much as I can - being that I am a Non target and all, however, having said that i feel like people will not really be in the mood to give me their business cards and might be put off by me being there?

No, EVERYONE there is there to network and meet new peers. Get your ticket, we don't have many left!
