Best role for macro investing
Hi fellow Chimps,
Apologies in advance for the somewhat naive nature of my question.
I am an intern at a mid-market investment bank in ECM. However, I have a real passion for macro investing - I often find myself analysing yields and articulating what the Fed/BOE may do next.
Having spent over 8 months in IB, I am yearning for something that requires more brain power than simply creating slides and aligning logos.
My question is, what role is best to incorporate the type of analysis mentioned above and do any particular shops spring to mind that are market leaders in this?
Bridgewater, Symmetry Investments, Alphadyne, Tenaron, Element, Brevan Howard, Moore, Tudor, Caxton Associatse, MKP Capital, Pharo Management, Discovery, Haidar, PointState, Duquesne Family Office, Clarium, Soros, Rokos (London)
Thank you very much!
Not quite "macro" investing as hedge funds do it, but if you're interested in macro analysis then you could look into sovereign bond investing.
You'll be doing everything from FX/rates analysis to deep dives of individual economies. Super interesting field to be in IMO.
Do you know any funds famous for/focusing on sovereign bond investing?
Not an expert but PIMCO has to be great for this, they run every FI strategy under the sun
I've only been in the space six months or so, definitely not an expert on the market. But all the major AMs and banks have teams in the space AFAIK.
