Financial Modelling / ACA to Asset Management

Hello,

I am currently looking at Financial Modelling roles within the Transactions departments of financial services firms. Many of these roles offer the opportunity to study the ACA alongside this role. My real interest is to break into AM as an Analyst, and I was wondering if this is a good role to do so? I have a non-finance background (postgraduate degree is in computer science / AI from a top 20 world ranked university).

I was also wondering in general if a role focused on financial modelling is too niche a skillset, and if I would be better off looking at Audit/Accounting roles if I am planning to do ACA and then transition?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
