How much to expect for total comp progression at BlackRock?

Based in London, was quoted an all-in GBP 120k figure for a mid-level PM associate position and was told that comp would be around 150k-160k as a new VP. This seems rather low...? Apart from their hedge fund groups, is this very out of line with other PM groups? What would a typical PM be expected to make there?

It's difficult to provide a specific answer without more information on the specific role, the level of experience required, and the size and type of the company. However, based on the information you've provided, the compensation offered for a mid-level PM associate position and a new VP in London does seem lower than what is typically offered in the industry.

According to industry reports and salary surveys, compensation for PM roles in London can range widely depending on factors such as company size, industry focus, level of experience, and individual performance. However, for a mid-level PM associate position, it is not uncommon for base salaries to be in the range of GBP 80k-120k, with a potential for additional performance-based bonuses and benefits. For a new VP, base salaries can be in the range of GBP 120k-200k, again depending on the factors mentioned above.

That being said, it's always important to take into account other factors such as company culture, growth potential, and work-life balance when considering a job offer. It may be helpful to research compensation and benefits packages at other companies in the industry to get a better understanding of what is typical and to negotiate with your potential employer accordingly.

That sounds correct for PM teams. Some specific groups can make higher bonuses if they have a stellar year.

So a 25% bonus is normal in junior positions?

Also how transferable would a multi-asset PM role which also contains some systematic active equities work be for moving into a HF?
