Multi-Asset AM Prospects?

Hi All,

Recently got offered from a mid-tier AM located on the East Coast for a graduate's role in the multi-asset team. Was wondering if multi-asset has good growth & progression going forward for a fresh grad, especially in a mid-tier AM (compared to big ones, like BR).

Should I take the offer and run with it, or should I take it first and look for better opps?

Thanks, appreciate all

I'm also a recent grad doing interviews in AM, so take this with a grain of salt. After completing interviews in the space, I figure that a multi-asset starting point would be beneficial for a few reasons. First, if you aren't completely sold on what you want to do yet it could be a good starting point in learning the investment process for multiple asset classes. For example, In one interview I have had recently for a multi-asset position, they were looking for someone that could be able to adapt and learn private equity/credit, infra debt/equity, real estate equity/debt, and sometimes structured products. I don't know what areas you'd be involved in, but you see my point. Second, you could theoretically mold your career into how you see fit. Start in a multi-asset group and find out you like FI more than Equity? Great, focus on that and see if you can network into that area since you have the experience. You will gain modeling and investment process experience in different classes, which could set you up down the road. Personally, I like the idea of wearing many different hats and learning all kinds of investment opportunities. I don't know where you got offered specifically, but I figure it would be a good opportunity.
