A little nervous for internship start- advice?
I just started my summer internship for a consulting firm on Monday and will be staffed on my project next week. I’m a little worried because I feel like I do not know enough to own an endure portion of the project myself and run analyses completely independently (as if I’ll be thrown into a forest with no idea of where to go). We did just have a week of training but obviously you can’t learn everything just watching someone talk on zoom. Do any of you have experiences with this or any advice for me?
Be a sponge.
They don't expect you to know everything, just learn as much as you can and give it your best shot.
ask questions only after you've given a reasonable effort at trying it yourself first
They won't throw you in the fire that quickly.
Understand that you are not alone. Every consultant there once was in your shoes. They will understand your initial imposter syndrome. Just remain confident and ask questions when needed.
