A&M NACR Recruiting

Hey, was wondering if anyone has insight on A&M NACR recruiting timelines?

I'm a junior spending this summer at FTI (business transformation) but I'm still keen on exploring other opportunities for full-time. I absolutely love restructuring consulting and want to try to get more into that once I graduate but I have no idea when recruiting starts or how to get involved in the process. If anyone has any insight on that, or on any other firms that do good rx consulting in Chicago, would really appreciate any information and help.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is a top-tier firm in restructuring consulting, and their recruiting timelines can vary depending on the region and specific group. While there isn't direct information on NACR (North American Corporate Restructuring) recruiting timelines in the knowledge base, here are some general tips and insights:

  1. Recruiting Timelines: For restructuring consulting roles, firms like A&M often recruit on a rolling basis, especially for full-time positions. It's advisable to start networking and reaching out to recruiters or alumni as early as possible in your junior year to stay ahead of the process.

  2. Networking: Since you're already at FTI in business transformation, leverage your current network to connect with professionals at A&M or other restructuring-focused firms. Alumni from your school or colleagues at FTI who have worked with A&M could provide valuable insights.

  3. Chicago Firms: In addition to A&M, other strong restructuring consulting firms in Chicago include AlixPartners, Berkeley Research Group (BRG), and FTI itself. These firms are known for their expertise in restructuring and turnaround consulting.

  4. How to Get Involved: Tailor your resume to highlight your interest and experience in restructuring. Focus on skills like financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, and operational improvement. Reach out to recruiters directly or attend networking events and career fairs where these firms are present.

If you're targeting A&M specifically, consider reaching out to their HR or recruiting team to inquire about timelines and application processes.
