Analyst research position at MBB?
Recently I had an interesting conversation with a Director from one of the MBB firms. He was suggesting that I apply for a role in their Capital Markets research team. This is somewhat different to the traditional career paths offered by MBB so I was hoping to get some thoughts from the members of this forum regarding what this kind of role might entail?
During my time in F500 Corporate Strategy I had a member of my team that was a Research Associate at McK. I didn't interview her but I'm assuming the McK name sold my SVP. Most people in corp america aren't smart to dig deep on the type of work you did at a MBB, the only thing they know is MBB is consulting so you must be a consultant regardless of your position. Remember most people are dumb!
What are your alternatives and goals? Also, feel free to PM me with the specific position, perhaps I can comment more specifically.
