Another question about background checks
Hi all! I was wondering if background checks looked at disciplinary record from the school. This is a 3rd party background check service, and as far as I know they only go as far as verifying my GPA. No mention of my disciplinary record is on the transcript.
Will the 3rd party service stop there or will they contact student conduct, etc. for additional records besides my transcript? Anyone with an experience regarding this before? Thanks!!
Your school's student conduct website should have a clause where it discusses whether it discloses disciplinary records or not. At least at my school they don't disclose it. Unless you did something really bad I wouldn't worry about it though.
Thank you so much, Stryfe! They don't release records normally, but the offer does ask me to fill out a pre-employment form giving them rights to all my records including educational records. I think it's to verify my GPA, which is completely fine. I'm just worried that if this issue is under discussion, it'll be what's forefront on my boss's mind when I start working (if I work there) since it's a pretty small company.
