Answering the "why consulting" question pre-emptively
I have a background in finance but want to pivot into consulting. My background so far is extremely finance-focused, with a bachelor's and master's in finance as well as 5 internships in investment banking and private equity. When introducing my background in an interview, should I present why I want to switch to consulting pre-emptively or should I wait for them to ask?
I'm thinking it might come across as a bit weird to present such a finance-heavy background without briefly mentioning why I want to switch to consulting.
