Applying now vs Fall?

Hi everyone,

I'm a rising senior at a target (one of HYPSM) trying to get a full-time offer at MBB. I got an email from McKinsey saying that I could submit my application now (June). Should I apply now, or wait till fall where I can talk to a recruiter/maybe get an in-person interview?

Also, I'm a engineering major with no consulting club experience; however, I do have lots of technical consulting experience. I want to be an analyst (not a software engineer/programmer) - how should I best prepare this summer to max the chances of getting an offer this fall? I have a good GPA (3.8), some good internships (at fairly well-known companies, but not household names), and zero consulting internships. I know I'm entering this field kind of blind, so any tips on getting an interview are super appreciated.

Could you elaborate on whether this is the McKinsey scramble to hire now or whether it is more aligned with like BCG's early application period (july 16th). In other words, can you expand on what this email was all about?
