Are Marketing Internships relevant for a career in Consulting?
Have an offer for a 6 month internship with J&J, would this be relevant for consulting in the future? I understand that there is a certain degree of variability in consulting work - would a marketing internship thus be a good platform to leverage myself upon?
Also, Would J&J have enough of a "prestige factor"?
Thank you.
Which area / aspect of marketing will you handle? I had internship in marketing too and I've been leveraging it - going to intern for S&O this summer. Not the best platform to leverage on - but not impossible too.
I will be working with the pharma division in J&J, assisting in their day to day activities - product development and marketing plans, lifecycle management etc. May I ask how you managed to leverage your marketing internship for your upcoming role in S&O?
Not bad at all. It might be easier from consulting, but you also have to keep in mind that J&J is a top tier name for marketing people to be working at.
The harder part is explaining why you want to make the switch.
