Asking for a referral from a MBB consultant

I went to a McKinsey recruitment presentation at my school, and had a pretty decent chat after with an engagement manager. He gave me his email. Would it be appropriate for me to send him my CV, and ask if he could forward it to the relevant people?

Also if so what would be a polite way of asking?

Thanks for your help.

As far as I know it from friends at MBB - the number of people they can/should refer limited and their name generally comes with that application. If that person will recommend you, then only if he really liked you and is impressed by you. So only ask for it if you think you've reached that point.

It's the same in any industry, you don't just forward any CV as their interview performance reflects on you in the end.
