Bain and BCG DC Offices

Hey all. Just finished sophomore year at a top target and interning at T2 firm doing strategy work. Got another offer (banking) and looking to do accelerated recruiting for consulting since this is def more where I see myself. Interested in MBB in DC offices, and I already know McKinsey has an extremely strong rep in DC. Does anybody have info about Bain and BCG? I plan on being in DC long term after 2-3 Years consulting + MBA — should I target NYC instead of DC? Thanks guys

Just went to a networking session with the DC BCG folks. They are cool folks and they work in a variety of different industries ranging from pharma, healthcare, to doing DDs, work in retail, etc. One dude is going to Dubai for 5 months to work on the strategic vision to implement a sports franchise there. So you could probably find something that piques your interests in the DC office. Bunch of cool people and they all seem to know each other well outside of the office.

I think DC is part of the Northeastern set of offices so staffing is NE centric (this is what one of the consultants told me). Travel can be heavy. I was told that the staffers do their best to accommodate your needs, but at the end of the day if you're needed on a project that needs to travel, you'll be out and about M-TH.

I've known people who have worked at all three offices and they all seem to enjoy it...isn't the BCG office in downtown Bethesda, MD or do they have one downtown as well? I friend who was with Bain in DC didn't seem to travel often but perhaps he was just on a local project.

The McKinsey office in DC is in a great location...I worked in DC for years and the area from Farragut West to Dupont is the best when it comes to lunch options, accessibility, being able to do shopping/appointments in the middle of the day, etc.
